Artistic Director Sonia Sabri MBE was delighted to join Dr Veeba Babu, Arunima Kumar BEM and Radhe Jaggi from the Isha Foundation for a thought-provoking panel discussion at the Nehru Centre, exploring “Purpose, Passion and the Indian Classical Arts.”

Bringing together different experiences, perspectives and pathways through the world of Indian classical dance, the conversation explored what it means to pursue an artistic practice with purpose, the role of passion in sustaining a creative journey, and the many ways in which tradition continues to evolve and resonate today.

It was a wonderful opportunity to share stories, exchange ideas and celebrate the richness and diversity of Indian classical arts. The discussion was filled with insightful perspectives, moments of reflection and, of course, plenty of laughter.

For Sonia, it was particularly special to share the space with artists and practitioners from different backgrounds, each bringing their own unique relationship with dance, culture and tradition.

Two worlds of dance. Four inspiring voices. One beautiful conversation.

And perhaps most importantly, this feels like only the beginning of a wider dialogue one that celebrates connection, curiosity and the continuing journey of Indian classical arts.
