Every year, Sonia Sabri Company showcases the work of Midlands’-based dance and music students, alumni, artists and undiscovered talent on a main stage in Birmingham. Akaar is a magical evening of South Asian arts and culture: discover the delights of Kathak, Bollywood and other Indian Classical Dance, as well as performances of Tabla, Harmonium, Sitar, Indian Singing and much more!
We proudly present the work of Sonia Sabri Company students, who have been nurtured through the dedicated teaching and guidance of Artistic Director, Sonia Sabri MBE, and Musical Director, Sarvar Sabri. In addition, Akaar showcases guest artists from the region and students from local groups and communities. Together our performers provide an unforgettable evening of wonder and passion.
