Sonia Sabri Company (SSCo) creates music and dance that is progressive, accomplished and sincerely felt. Our work is relevant to audiences today: making connections across cultures and generations, strengthening community understanding and increasing wellbeing through performances, workshops, and talent development.

Sonia Sabri Company creates exceptional South Asian dance and musical experiences for all kinds of audiences and participants. We create and tour our unique shows and productions, we mentor the next generation of artists, we teach classes, lead ensembles and run workshops in schools, communities and cultural organisations.
Current Productions
Our award-winning productions are rooted in Kathak and Indian classical music but draw on contemporary influences to create distinctive, relevant and accessible artistic experiences for audiences of all ages and backgrounds. We tour internationally to theatres, arts centres and festivals, as well as unconventional spaces, including schools, libraries, parks and museums.
We love to collaborate and work with partner organisations and individuals to create bespoke performances and events. Sonia has choreographed and directed dance for film and music videos, ‘flash mob’ performances, mass participatory shows, festivals and cross-artform projects.

Classes
Suitable for all ages and abilities, discover the joy and versatility of South Asian music and dance through our termly programme classes. Classes include: Kathak, Tabla, Classical Bollywood and Indian Singing.
Based in Birmingham, Newcastle and online, our classes will enable you to learn new skills, build your confidence and gain physical and mental nourishment.
Participation
Sonia Sabri Company provides enjoyable, informative and meaningful learning and participatory opportunities for people of all ages, abilities and levels of experience, spanning dance, music, storytelling and visual arts to explore South Asian culture. SSCo offer a range of exciting classes, workshops, and training programmes for schools, community groups, HE/FE establishments and emerging dancers and musicians.
